Newport picomotor actuators provide >30 nm resolution

Feb. 12, 2018
New Focus 83xx-UHV-NM picomotor actuators with Kapton wires provide 12.7 or 25.4 mm of travel.

New Focus 83xx-UHV-NM picomotor actuators with Kapton wires provide 12.7 or 25.4 mm of travel. They have utility in beam steering in vacuum down to 10-9 Torr, and in radiation applications that require Kapton wiring. They provide >30 nm resolution with minimal backlash, high stiffness, and a load capacity of 22 N.
