Hermeseal hermetic packaging from Micro-Hybrid is designed for nondispersive infrared (IR) components, including pyroelectric and thermopile detectors and IR sources. It is aimed at applications that use low molecular weight gases that could leak through an epoxy seal, or where the IR source needs to be isolated from explosive gases.
