Altitun AB (Kista, Switzerland), which entered the solid-state-laser market in February, has launched a wholly owned US subsidiary, Altitun Inc. (Pepperell, MA). Altitun AB (Kista, Switzerland), which entered the solid-state-laser market in February, has launched a wholly owned US subsidiary, Altitun Inc. (Pepperell, MA). Mark Graf, founder and former general manager of Diamond USA Inc. (Chelmsford, MA), is in charge of the US operation. The company makes a series of monolithic, tunable lasers for dense wavelength-division multiplexing--covering the erbium amplification band (from 1525 to 1565 nm). Altitun is an outgrowth of the Industrial Microelectronics Center AB--a contract research company jointly owned by the Royal Institute of Technology (Stockholm, Sweden) and the University of Linköping.
