The N-565 nanometer-precision linear stages from PI (Physik Instrumente; Auburn, MA) have uses in bio-nanotechnology and microscopy, among other applications. They integrate the company's PiezoWalk linear piezo motor to allow for a 65 × 80 mm footprint, with travel ranges offered in 13, 26 or 52 mm. They also feature the company's interferometric linear encoder that resolves to 20 pm, allows incremental motion below 1 nm, and has 0.5 nm encoder resolution.
