Van Nuys, CA – Moticont's vacuum-compatible GVCM-016-013-01M (Metric) Linear Voice Coil Servo Motor features a 6.4 mm (0.250 in.) stroke, high-speed operation, and sub-micron positioning accuracy when paired with an external high-resolution position sensor. A smooth electroless nickel plating minimizes outgassing of contaminants in vacuum environments while providing a noncorrosive, nonabsorbent surface that's easy to clean and sanitize — making the motor well suited for medical, laboratory, and vacuum applications.

This non-commutated, brushless linear DC servo motor delivers a continuous force rating of 1.6 N (5.7 oz.) and a peak force of 5.0 N (17.9 oz.) at a 10% duty cycle. Made in the USA, it operates cleanly and quietly, with high acceleration and deceleration, zero cogging, and zero backlash when directly coupled to a load — resulting in smooth, precise motion and long service life.

The GVCM-016-013-01M features a 2.36 mm (0.093 in.) diameter shaft with an M2.2 × 0.45 threaded end. Supported by a long-life plain bushing, the shaft accommodates side loads up to 2.2 N (8 oz.). With an overall length of just 31.0 mm (1.218 in.), the motor is well suited for compact, high-performance motion systems.

Its clean, quiet, high-speed, low-inertia design makes it ideal for medical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, assembly, clamping, testing, optical focusing, precision positioning, laser beam steering, wafer handling, dynamic vibration absorption, vibration testing, laser drilling, cutting, welding, and precision machining applications.

Two threaded M2.2 × 0.45 mounting holes, 2.5 mm deep and spaced on 6.4 mm (0.250 in.) centers, are located at both the housing and coil ends, simplifying integration into new or existing designs. For applications requiring a longer stroke, higher force, smaller footprint, or custom mounting configuration, Moticont's engineering team can provide application-specific modifications. The vacuum-compatible GVCM-016-013-01M is also available as a complete plug-and-play single- or multi-axis servo control system.
