Rochester Precision Optics (RPO; Rochester, NY) has named Dane Hileman as president, effective June 13, to continue the company's growth as manufacturer of high performance lenses, lens assemblies, and subsystems. Hileman has more than 25 years of engineering and management experience in the optics industry.
Most recently, Hileman was the president of Vectronix (Manchester, NH), where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of facilities in New Hampshire, California, and Virginia, and was on the board of its wholly owned subsidiary, Optics 1. Prior to this, he was chairman, president, and co-owner of Optics 1, an engineering company that he helped transform into an optical development and manufacturing business.

Hileman has a BS in Optics and an MBA from the University of Rochester, and has also worked in technical positions at Hughes Aircraft, Bausch & Lomb, Compaq, and Corning. Rochester Precision Optics was formed in 2005, when it acquired the manufacturing technology, intellectual properties, and assets from Kodak Optical Imaging Systems.
