Midinfrared OPO

Sept. 1, 1997
A periodically poled lithium niobate optical parametric oscillator (OPO) is integrated with a diode-pumped solid-state laser. The Model 110 covers the wavelength range from 1.3 to 5 µm. Poled lithium niobate, unlike conventional nonlinear materials, can use a small diode-pumped laser as pum¥source. The device requires no adjustments from the customer. Computer control allows turning on and off the device as well as wavelength tuning.
