Sierra-Olympic to showcase thermal camera at SPIE Photonics West 2018
The Vayu HD uncooled thermal camera is high-definition (1920 × 1200 pixels) and capable of 1080p output. It features longwave-infrared (LWIR) spectral response from 8 to 14 µm for use in security, border protection, military imaging, airborne reconnaisance, and wide area surveillance. The camera uses a vanadium oxide microbolometer (VOx) sensor with a capacity of over 2.3 million pixels on a 12 µm pixel pitch. Other features include an athermalized 24 mm F1.1 custom-designed optic, 30 Hz frame rate, and HD-SDI, h.264 IP-Video, or 16-bit Camera Link video formats.
