Lithography company Brewer Science on Minority Engineer Magazine list of top 50 employers in U.S. for 2015

Brewer Science has good company on the list: Texas Instruments, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and other tech behemoths.

Brewer Science (Rolla, MO), which makes photolithography products to aid in the fabrication of lighting LEDs, computer chips, and other semiconductor products, has earned a place (#36) on Minority Engineer magazine's list of Top 50 Employers in the United States for 2015; this is the second year for Brewer, having earned spot #39 in 2014. Brewer Science has some good company on the list, which this year includes Texas Instruments, Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and other tech behemoths.

Leading-edge lithography
Along with antireflective coatings (and many other products) for lithography, Brewer Science produces what it calls Optistack, which is a lithography platform that includes photoresists, hard masks, and other lithography stack components, along with simulation software. The system is used with lithography at either of the two predominant wavelengths in use today: 193 nm (argon fluoride excimer laser source) or 248 nm (krypton fluoride excimer laser source). Thin resists, which extend resolution limits, are supported. (Editor's note: everything that I've described in this particular paragraph pertains to the manufacture of leading-edge computer chips, rather than LEDs.)

The readers of Minority Engineer magazine selected Brewer Science as one of the top 50 companies in the United States for which they would most like to work or believe provide a positive working environment for minority engineers. This publication is the most widely read recruitment magazine in the nation for students, as well as entry-level and professional engineers, who are members of minority groups (Black, Hispanic, Asian-American, and Native-American) and women.

"Thank you for recognizing Brewer Science as one of the Top 50 Employers in the United States," says Terry Brewer, president and founder of Brewer Science. "It is an honor to be selected by the readers of Minority Engineer and to have a reputation as one of the leading employers in the nation. For many years, Brewer Science has been an advocate for education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Like many companies, we participate in career fairs to find outstanding and talented engineers, scientists, and technology experts. Our business mantra is based on innovation and diversity."
