NP Photonics wins two-year aerospace contract

Tucson, AZ--Fiber laser manufacturer NP Photonics was awarded a multi‐million dollar, two-year product development contract by an undisclosed, strategic customer in the aerospace sector.  

Tucson, AZ--Manufacturer of narrowband fiber lasers for the sensing, metrology, and research markets, NP Photonics was awarded a multi‐million dollar, two-year product development contract by an undisclosed, strategic customer in the aerospace sector.

"The unique narrow linewidth performance and industry‐leading ultra‐low noise signature of our Rock [trade mark] lasers continue to create new high‐growth market opportunities, in this case in the aerospace industry."

The technology that will emerge from this program, although customized for a high‐volume confidential aerospace application, will also address the requirements of the acoustic sensing market.

NP Photonics' proprietary fiber laser technology is used across a broad family of products including narrow line‐width, low phase‐noise fiber lasers specifically designed for operation in an industrial environment. Founded in 1998 and with more than 1000 lasers installed worldwide, NP Photonics says it continues to grow through technology development, planned product introductions, and engagement with markets in which the company has a clear sustainable advantage.
