Laser drilling machines produce cooling air holes in gas turbines
The 5-axis LASERTEC 160 PowerDrill and the smaller LASERTEC 100 PowerDrill produce cooling air holes in gas turbines at up to 500 holes/sec. They are available with fiber lasers rated at 9 to 23 kW and in a PowerShape machine version for shaped-hole machining.
