Partnership to develop automotive dynamic beam laser processes for e-mobility

The companies will together develop new laser processes focused on the new manufacturing needs for tomorrow’s vehicle.

Civan Advanced Technologies (Jerusalem, Israel) has partnered with Bosch Technologies Israel (Tel Aviv, Israel) to redefine laser beam welding for the new age of e-mobility. The companies will together develop new processes focused on the new manufacturing needs for tomorrow’s vehicle.

Civan’s Dynamic Beam Laser allows manufacturers to fully control beam shape, frequency, sequence, and focus steering. These advanced capabilities help meet manufacturing challenges that prevent automated laser welding in the manufacturing process.

Civan’s Dynamic Beam Laser is built using coherent beam combining (CBC), which helps to achieve high-quality welds for the most challenging materials and shapes, according to Elkana Ben-Sinai, COO of Civan Lasers.

The partnership is supported by Israel Innovation Authority.
