Laser micromachining specialist ESI names new vice president of engineering

Electro Scientific Industries (ESI) recently appointed Steve Harris as the company's vice president of engineering.

Laser micromachining solutions developer Electro Scientific Industries (ESI; Portland, OR) appointed Steve Harris as the company's vice president of engineering, effective February 10, 2017.

Harris brings over 30 years of engineering, engineering management, and business management experience to the company. He spent the past seven years at Cascade Microtech, where he served as vice president of engineering, and as vice president and general manager. Prior to joining Cascade Microtech, he worked for 11 years at ESI, where he served as vice president of research, development, and engineering and was a division general manager. He spent the first 13 years of his career at Tektronix in development engineering, program management, and engineering management roles.
