Rofin-LASAG AG, Thun, Switzerland, has introduced the SLS CL8 GX pulsed Nd:YAG laser for miniature and precision welds. The laser uses the unique GreenMix pulse technology, enabling reproducible spot welds on non-ferrous metals down to a diameter of 25 microns.

The unique programmable wavelength-mix of 532 and 1064 nm leads on one hand to a safe laser beam deployment for highly reflective materials such as copper and precious metals and provides on the other hand an efficient usage of the total available laser power for the welding process.

The laser source SLS CL8 GX is particularly suitable for highly reproducible spot and seam welds in medical and electronic industries.

Rofin-LASAG AG launched the SLS 200 GX at the LASER 2011 exhibition in Munich earlier this year.
