UV LEDs for fluorescence microscopy from Laser Components

May 18, 2018
LG Innotek UV LEDs include a UVB version that achieves 110 mW (at 305 nm) from a single emitter, with utility in fluorescence microscopy.

LG Innotek UV LEDs distributed by Laser Components (Olching, Germany) include a UVB version that achieves 110 mW (at 305 nm) from a single emitter. They are used in the 6060 single-chip series as well as the 6868 series, which features four diodes integrated into one housing. Together, they deliver outputs of 300 mW and more. LEDs with the same power levels are also available for the UVC wavelength (278 nm). UV radiation stimulates fluorescence, which is put to use in many analytical methods such as fluorescence microscopy.
