Microwatt Applications opens IR sensors business in Florida

August 18, 2009--Microwatt Applications (Boynton Beach, FL), a supplier of pyroelectric detectors and related accessories, announced its registration as Microwatt Applications LLC (MWA) in the U.S. state of Florida. MWA develops, manufactures, and markets infrared (IR) sensors used in industrial process control, medical, and military applications.

August 18, 2009--Microwatt Applications (Boynton Beach, FL), a supplier of pyroelectric detectors and related accessories, announced its registration as Microwatt Applications LLC (MWA) in the U.S. state of Florida. MWA develops, manufactures, and markets infrared (IR) sensors used in industrial process control, medical, and military applications (see also "Pyroelectric detector has advantages for terahertz sensing").

MWA CEO Alan Doctor said, "This registration is only the first step in establishing the Microwatt Applications footprint in Florida. We are a U.S. based company building a superior product with aggressive pricing." The current product line include doped triglycine sulfate (DLATGS) and lithium tantalate pyroelectric IR detectors and accessories that are used in industrial, aerospace, medical, military, and homeland defense applications.

The company's key personnel have over 50 years of experience in the design, manufacture, and marketing of these devices and are well known in the industry.
