CATV lasers

Dec. 1, 1998
The Model 1720A and 1721A 1550-nm CW lasers are designed for hybrid fiber-coax cable TV networks. The lasers are available in 14-pin butterfly packages with a thermoelectric cooler, monitor photodiode, and polarization-preserving fiber. The laser is designed for use in high-performance externally modulated analog and digital applications. The fiber-coupled power is more than 40 mW with a low relative intensity noise of less than -162 dBHz.
