Gentec-EO power detectors for solid-state pulsed lasers
The UP55N-VR volume absorber power detectors offer a 55 mm Ø aperture to accommodate large beams. The company's Volume Absorber technology sustains high peak powers when combined with the high energy per pulse that is characteristic of solid-state lasers. The detectors measure continuous average powers ranging from 50 W (standalone version) to 200 W (water-cooling version), and can also be used to measure single-shot energy up to 200 J/pulse.

Gentec-EO launches new Large Size Power Detector for Highly Energetic Pulsed Lasers
Quebec City, CANADA – November 10th, 2011 – Gentec Electro-Optics, Inc. (Quebec City, Canada), has just launched a new large size volume absorber power detector, with a 55 mm Ø aperture to accommodate the largest beams. This very special detector is based on Gentec-EO’s unique Volume Absorber technology that has unsurpassed performances. This absorber technology is designed to sustain the high peak powers combined to the high energy per pulse that is characteristic of high energy solid state lasers.
The new UP55N-VR family is available with 4 different cooling modules to measure continuous average powers ranging from 50 W with the standalone version, to 200 W with the water-cooling module. As all the other thermopile detectors of Gentec-EO, it can also be used to measure single shot energy, up to 200 Joules/pulse.
Main Specifications:
Max Average Power: Up to 200 W
Max Energy in Single Shot: 200 J
Effective Aperture: 55 mm Ø
Max Energy Density: Up to 40 J/cm2 (360 µs pulses @ 5 Hz, 1064 nm)
Max Average Power Dens.: 700 W/cm2
