Polymer grating spectrometer
Polymer grating spectrometer
Versions of a diffraction-grating-based miniature spectrometer operate in either the 400-1100-nm or 370-850-nm wavelength region. The de vice is based on German lithography, electroforming, and plastic molding (LIGA) technology. A micromolded spectrometer diffraction grating, a fiber input port, and an alignment area for a photodiode array are integrated into a stacked polymer core measuring 0.6 ¥ 0.5 ¥ 0.5 in. Spectral resolution of the device is 8 nm. Applications include stationary as well as portable analysis equipment for medicine, environmental monitoring, and quality control.
