Nov. 17, 2010
Boulder, CO â The Colorado Photonics Industry Association (CPIA) has named Research Electro-Optics, Inc. (REO) as the 2010 Colorado Photonics Company of the Year. The CPIA bestows the Photonics Company of the Year award to the company or institution that it feels has contributed the most to the Colorado photonics industry over the preceding year. This 2010 winner, REO, is a precision optics and thin film coating company, founded in Colorado in 1980.
REO was selected from more than 240 companies in the aerospace, renewable energy, defense, security, medical and life sciences, biotech, telecommunications, and electronics industries, which are involved in photonics, or light-based, technologies.
The award will be presented to Terry Moshier, REO Chairman, CEO and President at the CPIA Annual Meeting to be held today on the University of Colorado campus in Boulder (UMC 235) from 3-6 p.m. and is open to the public.
âSince its inception, REO has established its reputation as a supplier of exceptional optical coatings and precision components,â notes Brian Knollenberg, CPIA board member. âOver the past few years, the company has grown significantly, leading to a substantial increase in staff, and the acquisition and expansion of new manufacturing and technology assets. REOâs expansion of their design and production operation has been an important factor in strengthening our local photonics industry.â
âWe are honored to have been chosen as the Colorado Photonics Company of the Year,â stated Terry Moshier. âWith the continued success of our precision optical coating technology, and our diversification into optical assembly and design services, we are well positioned for continued growth and innovation in 2011 and beyond. We feel that our location in Boulder, Colorado, gives us ready access to the talent and resources that are critical to facilitating and furthering this growth. The recognition being bestowed to REO goes to our employees and their achievements in serving our customers.â
