Privately held Blue Road Research (Portland, OR) has been acquired by Standard MEMS (Burlington, MA) on undisclosed terms. Standard MEMS is especially interested in the fiber sensors developed by Blue Road to monitor the health of structures such as bridges, buildings, and aircraft. Founder and head of Blue Road, Eric Udd, will continue to manage product R&D and will take on additional corporate responsibilities.—W. Conard Holton
