APA Optics Appoints Two to Board

APA Optics, Inc. announced that Michael Gort and William Franta have resigned from the Company's Board of Directors and that Ronald G. Roth and Stephen L. Zuckerman, M.D., have been appointed to fill the vacancies

APA Optics, Inc. announced that Michael Gort and William Franta have resigned from the Company's Board of Directors and that Ronald G. Roth and Stephen L. Zuckerman, M.D., have been appointed to fill the vacancies.

Roth is a veteran Twin Cities entrepreneur who has developed, operated, and sold several businesses, including Waste Systems Corp., a waste disposal firm, and Access Cash International, L.L.C, an automated teller machine leasing company. He served as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Waste Systems Corporation for 25 years.

Stephen Zuckerman, a medical doctor specializing in internal medicine, is affiliated with Aspen Medical Group in Minneapolis. Dr. Zuckerman has been active as an entrepreneur and as a business advisor to entrepreneurs for many years.

Anil K. Jain, APA's founder, president, and chief executive officer, said he was most pleased that Roth and Zuckerman had joined the board. "I know that Ron and Steve will make significant contributions as we work to make APA a vital and successful force in our industries."

APA Optics, Inc. develops, manufactures and markets advanced products for the fiber optic network communications, optoelectronics and laser industries, including dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) components, ultraviolet (UV) detectors and devices for consumer UV monitoring based on compound semiconductor technology, nitride epitaxial layers and custom optics.
