Texas Instruments Defense Systems & Electronics Grou¥(Dallas, TX) awarded a production contract for time-delay-and-integration-mode infrared focal-plane arrays (IRFPAs) to Sofradir (Grenoble, France). Texas Instruments Defense Systems & Electronics Grou¥(Dallas, TX) awarded a production contract for time-delay-and-integration-mode infrared focal-plane arrays (IRFPAs) to Sofradir (Grenoble, France). The long-wavelength (8-12 µm) IRFPA devices--which are based on mercury cadmium telluride detectors--will be incorporated into thermal sight systems for delivery to Aselsan Military Electronics Industries (Turkey) and the Turkish Land Forces as part of a $46 million contract for 650 day and night thermal sight systems for armored infantry fight vehicles.
