PRESS RELEASE

Lambda Research Corporation Announces the Release of OSLO® 6.6 and OSLO® EDU 6.6

Littleton, Massachusetts – Lambda Research Corporation announces the latest release of its OSLO lens design software version 6.6. The OSLO 6.6 release includes several new capabilities and program enhancements. OSLO 6.6 is now fully compatible with Windows 7. Program improvements include STEP file export, TOPS merit functions, NotePad++ editor, user selectable private folder, Q-Type Asphere improvement (Premium edition only) and an updated help system. This release also includes updated glass and vendor lens catalogs.

The new TOPS merit functions are based on merit functions developed in the 1960s and 70s by Prof. Charles Wynne, Mrs. Prudence Wormell, Dr. Michael Kidger, David Freeman and others. One version (tops) will only work with the Standard and Premium editions of OSLO, but a simpler one (tops_edu) will work with OSLO EDU and OSLO Light. Both will generate an error function which can be used "off the shelf" for rapid improvement of many types of rotationally symmetric lenses, or tailored to finalize the design by adjustment of weights and targets.

Download your free OSLO EDU edition together with the new OSLO User Guide at www.lambdares.com/education/oslo_edu/. You can also request a free 30 day OSLO Premium trial at www.lambdares.com/trials.
