The University of Massachusetts (Amherst, MA) has awarded OSEM Inc. (Tucson, AZ) a $1.27 million contract to provide telescopes for the Two Micron All-Sky Survey (2MASS) Project. Astronomers plan to ma¥the sky at wavelengths between 1.1 and 2.3 µm, using a pair of 1.3-m telescopes. One instrument will be located in Chile, the other just outside of Tucson, and both will be operated under computer control. OSEM is contracted to fabricate the telescopes, focusing systems, and finder scopes, along with associated instrumentation and software. Delivery is scheduled for March 1996, and the agreement includes system installation.
