PRESS RELEASE

Multi-Port Wavelength Selectable Laser System, MSL-100

Product Name : Multi-Port Wavelength Selectable Laser System Module code : MSL-100

Santec, a leading design and manufacturer of tunable lasers, optical instruments, and fiber-optic components, introduces a new Multi-Port Wavelength Selectable Laser System, MSL-100, designed for Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transmission system and component testing. With up to 100 ports, each port configured from a choice of 196 ITU 25GHz-spaced channels, the MSL-100 is a valuable tool for evaluating channel management in next generation optical networks. The system comprises a mainframe that can support up to 20 tunable lasers (ports), and expansion frames that can each add up to 40 extra ports. Power and channel selection are fully programmable, and an internal wavelength locker ensures high wavelength accuracy and stability. C-band and L-band versions are available.

The laser system is controlled either through a USB interface or via the front panel touchscreen; making the MSL-100 suitable for applications in research and development as well as in automated measurement systems, such as those used in production lines.
