Optatec, an international trade fair held every two years at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre in Germany, focuses on optical technologies and components and systems, and provides the industry with a communication and business platform. Now in its 12th year, the Optatec 2014 exhibition and conference will be held May 20-22, 2014, with an anticipated 5000+ attendees.
Optatec co-operates with conceptual sponsors as well as technology and institutional partners, including the German Industry Association for Photonics and Precision Engineering (SPECTARIS; Berlin, Germany) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering (IOF; Jena, Germany).
This year, attendees can expect to see/learn about fiber optics, photovoltaics, LED solutions, and safety systems, as well as production and medical technology applications. The fair will also discuss key issues of the industry, such as energy, material and staff efficiency, economical conservation of resources and the environment, and competitive power. Offerings for Optatec 2014 include a "Training and Research – Study Photonics" technology park offered by numerous German universities, the Optence Innovations Forum as a marketplace for ideas, OptecNet’s "Startup Challenge," and a CEO Round Table titled "Photonics as a Key Technology: the Markets with the Best Opportunities."
