• Shasta Crystals strengthens advisory board expertise

    Three new members have joined the Advisory Board, with expertise in crystal growth, business development, laser engineering, and medical laser markets.

    Three new members have joined the Shasta Crystals (San Francisco, CA) Advisory Board, which now comprises six academic and industry experts in crystal growth, international business development, laser engineering, medical laser markets, and new product development. The Board members will provide advice and guidance on how to address the opportunities and challenges associated with building a successful business from a core set of novel technologies.

    The company focuses on making advanced materials that are critical components in laser systems that serve a variety of markets including industrial, medical, scientific, military, and consumer electronics. Shasta’s Laser Heated Pedestal Growth (LHPG) technology produces cladded single crystal fibers and thin crystal rods for high power lasers and amplifiers.

    The three new members of the Shasta Crystals Advisory Board are:

    Alexander Kachanov – Principal Scientist & Group Leader, LI-COR Biosciences

    Dale Koop – CEO, Perigee Medical Lasers

    Raja M. Parvez – Former President & CEO Rubicon Technology (Nasdaq:RBCN)

    These new members join the current Advisory Board:

    Robert Feigelson – Professor Emeritus, Stanford University, Department of Materials Science and Engineering

    Michel Ferriol – Professor, University of Metz

    Roger Route – Senior Research Associate, Ginzton Laboratory, Stanford University
