United Photonics' fiber laser products are incorporated in various laser material processing and additive manufacturing systems.

Photonics sensor products and technology developer LuxPoint (Rocky Hill, CT) has acquired United Photonics (Vernon, CT), which designs and supplies fiber laser modules and accessory products. United Photonics' products are incorporated in various laser material processing and additive manufacturing systems.

The acquisition of United Photonics marks the entry of LuxPoint into the fiber laser business, and will carry on United Photonics' supply of engineered fiber laser products to OEM clients that provide equipment and systems in laser metal sintering (LMS) additive manufacturing, marking and cutting, material surface treatment, and cosmetic laser markets.

Assets and staff of United Photonics will transfer to LuxPoint and operate out of LuxPoint's Rocky Hill facility. In combining the two companies, which will operate as LuxPoint laser products group, OEM customers will benefit from the added resources and engineering capabilities of LuxPoint, while retaining United Photonics' expertise, supply chain, and customer relationships.
