Lannion, France--Fiber-optic test and measurement company Yenista Optics is expandingits international presence with a support center in Shanghai, China that will offer technical support and repair services. It opens officially on March 18, 2013. Yenista has deployed tunable lasers and tunable filters (http://www.laserfocusworld.com/articles/2012/09/yenista-manual-optical-tunable-bandpass-filter.html) in mainland China with the help of its local sales partners. Its customers face important challenges in test and measurement both for manufacturing and R&D. Through the support center, Yenista will be able to accompany and assistant them with implementing its products in their setups.

The support center will also offer repair services on legacy TUNICS and OSICS equipment from Photonetics and Nettest. Those optical instruments and corresponding technology were transferred from Anritsu to Yenista back in 2009. More than 350 units dating from the bubble years have been successfully repaired since the transfer.

According to Nicéphore Nicolas, sales & marketing manager in charge of the Chinese market (http://www.laserfocusworld.com/blogs/photon-focus/2013/03/nlia-and-clusters-advance-china-s-domestic-laser-industry.html), "Our presence in mainland China shows Yenista's commitment to serve customers with local support. The Shanghai Support Center marks an important milestone in Yenista's history: it is the first step of the company's establishment in Asia."

Yenista Optics designs and manufactures fiber-optic test and measurement equipment for a broad range of applications from high-bandwidth communications to scientific and research markets. The product portfolio includes tunable filters, tunable lasers, a component tester, and a multifunction test platform. The company also supplies optical modules and instruments on an OEM basis.
