Laser micromachining provider Resonetics gets acquired by Sverica

Laser micromachining solutions supplier Resonetics has been acquired by private equity investment firm Sverica International Management LLC, effective October 21, 2014.

Nashua, NH - Laser micromachining solutions supplier Resonetics has been acquired by private equity investment firm Sverica International Management LLC (Boston, MA), effective October 21, 2014.

Resonetics, which focuses on polymers, supports its customers with a state-of-the-art prototyping and process development center and a technical team of more than 30 engineers and scientists and 50 laser workstations of various technologies. These workstations can create features as small as 1µm in a scalable, reproducible manner. Tom Burns, Resonetics' CEO, states that Sverica's "expertise and experience working with specialty manufacturers, as well as their access to capital, will be important as we capitalize on the expanding market needs we're seeing."

Dave Finley, managing director at Sverica, added that outsourcing trends and shift to miniaturization and polymers play to the company's strengths.
