EVS Metal acquires new fiber laser cutting system for NJ fabrication facility
Sheet metal fabricator EVS Metal (Riverdale, NJ) has acquired a new LCG 3015 AJ fiber laser cutting system from Amada America (Buena Park, CA) for its Riverdale-based facility.
The LCG 3015 AJ laser system includes a high-speed cutting head, a sectionalized dust collection system, a helical rack and pinion drive system, and an intuitive AMNC 3i Control touchscreen. Because it can handle high-speed, high-precision metal fabrication operations, the system will help the company to improve edge quality and broaden the scope of material that it can cut, including both copper and brass. The system is said to run on a third of the electricity required by the company's same-wattage CO2 laser system, as well as take up less of its shop floor space.
The machine's speed will allow EVS Metal customers' projects to be turned around faster, including product prototypes.
