• II-VI Infrared to showcase lens stress analyzer at Fabtech 2016

The mini Lens Stress Analyzer can detect lens stress before lens failure occurs, or that an underperforming lens needs only be cleaned rather than discarded.
    Nov. 2, 2016

The mini Lens Stress Analyzer (LSA) can detect lens stress before lens failure occurs, or that an underperforming lens needs only be cleaned rather than discarded. By clipping the LSA onto a smartphone or camera phone and turning on the camera app, a lens can be placed in front of the phone's screen to allow the operator to rotate the phone into cross-polarization. Then, the fluorescent light computer screen will appear to go dark, showing any stress present in an optic being analyzed.
