Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England - Laser cutting expert Cutting Technologies has been working with mural and artwork specialist One Red Shoe to bring a busy Crewe, Cheshire, England walkway back to life.
The Royal Arcade Walkway had suffered from vandalism and graffiti and needed immediate improvement as part of a proposed redevelopment project for the town. One Red Shoe were commissioned by Shoppertainment (Manchester, Greater Manchester, England) to find a solution. Impressed by Cutting Technologies' work on other projects, One Red Shoe wasted no time in contacting them to help.
Cutting Technologies laser-cut six stencils in 0.3mm Mylar, which were used to create 95 images in total. The design of the stencils incorporated images from local school children who were asked to shape an artwork inspired by what Crewe means to them, with important historical and cultural aspects of the town mural that covers a 120m2 area.
The walkway officially opened on October 20, 2015. For more information, please visit www.cut-tec.co.uk.
