From small housing to large cabinets

Elk Grove Village, IL - IMS Companies LLC (Innovative Manufacturing Solutions) is the parent of a group of four contract manufacturing operations-IMS Exton (sheet metal), IMS Buhrke Industries (metal stampings), IMS Electrol (wire harnesses), and IMS Global Gear & Machining (contract machining)-that provides OEM customers with a broad range of contract services. Among these, Exton, founded in 1974 in Elk Grove Village, offers value-added service in fabricating and electro-mechanical assembly.

Now operating out of a 72,000-square-foot facility, Exton specializes in the design and build of complex housing and cabinet assemblies. A 9001:2000 certified company, it has a variety of customers in the appliance, printing, test equipment, security, telecom, and food service industries.

Like most modern fab operations Exton uses a laser cutter as a flexible tool to satisfy the cutting needs of these customers. It operates a 2.8kW Bystronic laser system that has a rotary axis capability for cutting tubular products.
