Highly realistic simulation programs for military training just got even more sophisticated, with a unique physics-based thermal imaging infrared feature created by Bohemia Interactive Simulations.

Paired with a coherent optical fiber bundle, meta-optics are poised to transform surgical procedures. Development of a new endoscope by a team at the University of Washington could allow access to regions in the body not currently reachable with conventional systems.

Researchers at Columbia University have figured out how to finally link the realms of free-space optics and integrated photonics, ultimately developing a class of nanophotonic devices based on leaky-wave metasurfaces.
