B&W Tek reaches 15-year anniversary; works to expand academic program

Optical spectroscopy instrumentation maker B&W Tek marks its 15th anniversary in serving the photonics industry.

Newark, DE--Optical spectroscopy instrumentation and laser systems maker B&W Tek marks its 15th anniversary in serving the photonics industry. The company was originally established as a producer of green lasers in January 1997.

In the last 15 years B&W Tek has experienced substantial growth, with global influence from its US, Germany, China, and Japan offices, as well as its network of international distributors based in over 18 countries.

The company's lasers, fiber-optic spectrometers, Raman systems, software, and accessories, as well as custom design and manufacturing capabilities, are breaking into industries outside of photonics, such as solid-state lighting, pharmaceutical, and polymer processing.

Last year, in efforts to reach out to the academic community, the company launched its New Horizons academic partnership program to support scientists performing cutting-edge research. They expect to expand on this program this year and beyond.
