Rochester, NY--Empire Precision Plastics (EPP) has purchased the physical assets and technical staff of polymer optics, diamond turning, and thin film coating company Lightwave Enterprises, Inc. (LEI), also based in Rochester.

Adding these resources will add an immediate optical component to Empire Precision's offering of injection-molded products manufactured for the medical/surgical, mil/aero, electronic, and consumer products industries. LEI's equipment has been moved to EPP's Rochester facility and should be operational on or before March 9. The additions also allow the company to offer its domestic and international customers a much broader array of precision component and contract manufacturing services, says Neal Elli, EPP president.
