Washington, DC--The Optical Society (OSA) has launched a new “Internship Gateway” on its job board Web site, www.WORKinOPTICS.com. The site, which already helps connect optics and photonics companies to job seekers, will provide a new path for students to gain real-world experience in their chosen fields. Companies will also benefit by gaining valuable assistance and the opportunity to evaluate students for potential full-time employment.

Through the Web site, students will be able to search from a portfolio of internship opportunities posted by companies in the optics and photonics industry. They will also have the ability to post their resumes online so companies can find them. The Internship Gateway provides opportunities for current students in two-year technical programs, four-year colleges and universities, and master’s and Ph.D. programs, as well as for a wide range of corporations.

Students and companies can get started with the Internship Gateway by visiting www.WORKinOPTICS.com/internships.aspx. The service is free to all students and OSA Corporate Members. Non-OSA Corporate members may also post openings for a small fee.
