Van Nuys, CA – Moticont has released the HVCM-051-089-019-01 Hollow-Core Linear Voice Coil Motor, featuring a 2.25-in. (57.2 mm) stroke. This low-inertia, high-speed linear servo motor delivers high acceleration and deceleration while operating quietly and smoothly. Its non-commutated, brushless design makes it well suited for applications including testing, optical focusing, precision positioning, laser beam steering, laser drilling, cutting and machining, medical diagnostic equipment, scanning, wafer handling, dynamic vibration absorption, sorting, and assembly.

This fully bidirectional DC servo motor can achieve positioning resolution of less than 1 micron when used in a closed-loop servo system with an appropriate high-resolution position sensor. The voice coil, or moving-coil actuator, provides smooth motion with zero cogging and zero backlash when connected directly to the load. It offers a high force-to-size ratio, with a continuous force rating of 4.2 lb. (18.8 N) and a peak force rating of 13.4 lb. (59.5 N) at a 10% duty cycle.

The HVCM-051-089-019-01 features a 0.75-in. (19.1 mm) open aperture that allows optics, illumination, laser beams, or cables to pass through the center of the motor. It has a 2.000-in.

(50.8 mm) housing outside diameter and a 3.50-in. (88.9 mm) housing length. At mid-stroke, the motor's extended length is 5.14 in. (130.6 mm).

Two 10-32 UNF-2B x 0.38-in. (9.7 mm) deep threaded mounting holes, located on 1.000-in. (25.4 mm) centers, provide flexible mounting and easy integration into new and existing applications.
