Nano-focus motor from PI provides sub-nanometer precision

The N-725 nano-focus system combines the performance a fine-focus piezo drive and a piezowalk motor with long travel motion and sub-nanometer precision.

December 2013, Auburn, MA – PI introduces the N-725 nano-focus system, a hybrid positioning solution that combines the speed and precision of a fine-focus piezo actuator with the long travel range of a PiezoWalk® motor.

The two-stage design enables rapid, sub-nanometer focusing while also providing the extended motion required for sample changes, objective positioning, and automated measurement routines. By integrating coarse and fine positioning in one compact system, the N-725 eliminates the need for separate focus mechanisms and simplifies system integration.

The N-725 is designed for demanding applications in microscopy, optical metrology, semiconductor inspection, and other precision imaging systems where long travel, fast settling, and extremely high positioning resolution are required.
