Mahr Inc. to Feature High-Precision Optical Metrology Solutions at SPIE Photonics West 2026
Exhibit Will Focus on 3D Metrology Solutions and Precision Measurement Instruments for Optical Manufacturing, including Portable Surface Measurement, Roughness and Contour Measurements, and Handheld Metrology Tools
PROVIDENCE, RI – January 15, 2026– Mahr Inc., a leading provider of dimensional metrology solutions, will highlight its specialized metrology instruments for optical manufacturing at Photonics West 2026, January 20 – 22 in San Francisco. With instruments including white light and confocal microscopy, 3D and portable surface measurement tools, profilometers, precision gages, and more, Mahr provides a full range of metrology solutions to meet optical manufacturing needs.
Products to be highlighted at the Mahr booth, #2451, will include:
- MarSurf CM mobile: This portable optical surface metrology tool offers the highest-speed, highest-resolution confocal measurements on the shop floor or in the field. The MarSurf CM mobile includes a 16-bit high-dynamic-range (HDR) camera that improves data density by 5x and low light sensitivity by 256x. This ensures optimum contrast for highly dynamic surfaces while maintaining the robust performance and low noise-to-signal ratio that customers have come to expect from MarSurf CM products. The CM mobile also offers the highest acquisition speed of up to 100 frames per second. The compact system, equipped with motorized XYZ-axes, enables measurements to be performed directly on large parts for user-friendly surface analysis, wherever it is needed.
- MarOpto LD 280 Aspheric: The MarOpto LD 280 Aspheric 2D system cost-effectively integrates measurement technology into production via closed loop. The increased measuring X-axis distance of 280 mm and the large measuring range of up to 37.5mm (probe arm stroke), makes measurement of even larger spheres, aspheres, and DOEs possible – with proven accuracy and speed. Mahr’s innovative technology for the magnetic attachment of probe arms ensures perfect positioning and automatic detection. The optimized interface integrates the chip-coded probe arms reproducibly into the measuring circuit, reducing the need for calibration. The scanning force can also be adjusted electronically, ensuring that even the most sensitive materials are safe.
- Handheld Metrology Tools: Mahr’s integrated wireless hand tools, including Micromar micrometers, MarCal calipers, and MarCator indicators will also be on display. These handheld gages permit full mobility with wireless data transmission. Highlighted solutions include:
- Micromar 40 EWRi digital micrometer
- Micromar 40 TS digital micrometer with Millimess 2001Wi inductive digital comparator
- MarCal 16 EWRi digital caliper
- MarCator 1087 digital indicator
- MarCator 1087 Ri digital indicator, used on the Precimar SM setting instrument
