ID Photonics Expands Tunable Laser Portfolio with Launch of LX and DO Series at OFC 2026
LOS ANGELES, CA – March 15, 2026 – ID Photonics, a leader in high-performance optical test solutions, today announced a significant evolution of its renowned CoBrite product family with the launch of the LX Laser and the DO Laser. These next-generation sources set new industry benchmarks for tuning range, power density, and spectral versatility.
The LX Laser: Unprecedented Power and Range
The LX Laser succeeds the legacy LC model, delivering a massive leap in performance for coherent-grade applications. By extending the accessible frequency range from 185.00 THz to 196.75 THz, the LX offers a tuning range of nearly 12 THz—a greater than 10% increase over previous generations.
Beyond its range, the LX Laser packs a punch with up to 15.5 dBm of output power, representing a 3x increase over its predecessor. This allows researchers and engineers to achieve superior signal integrity and efficiency in the most demanding measurement environments.

In a strategic expansion of the CoBrite ecosystem, ID Photonics also introduces the DO Laser. This addition brings high-performance tunable technology to the O-Band, complementing the platform’s established dominance in the L, C, and S-Bands.
The DO Laser allows operators to leverage the same proven, scalable CoBrite architecture—which supports configurations from 1 to 48 channels—for coherent O-Band transmission testing, ensuring a future-proof environment for next-generation optical networking.
