A 30-second TV spot promoting optics, photonics, and imaging in New York state's Finger Lakes region features a ZYGO laser interferometer system and associated analysis software. The video, produced by Empire State Development, shows the ZYGO system in use at Monroe Community College in Rochester, NY, as part of their Optical Systems Technology program.

Dr. Alexis Vogt, Associate Professor & Endowed Chair of the Optical Systems Technology program at the college remarked:

"Training students in optical metrology, using the ZYGO laser interferometer system, has been an important part of our curriculum. This training helps prepare students for real-world testing and quality control practices in the workplace since ZYGO systems are widely used in optics, photonics, and imaging industries."

The Rochester area has long been a hotspot for optics and photonics companies and research facilities. ZYGO is proud that our laser interferometer systems are considered the industry standard for precision optical metrology for many of these organizations, and have played a role in their success.
