OSI Systems expands portfolio with Metorex purchase

OSI Systems (Hawthorne, CA) has completed the purchase of the security-products business of Metorex International Oy (Espoo, Finland), a manufacturer and distributor of walk-through and hand-held metal-detection systems, for about $6 million in cash. Patents covering key aspects of the acquired lines of Metorex metal-detection systems were included in the transactions. Metorex has an installed base of more than 30,000 metal detectors in more than 100 countries. During the last fiscal year, sales of Metorex security products exceeded $7 million.
