New Image-Pro® Insight Software Offers Sleek Interface and Imaging Tools To Capture, Process, Measure, and Report

February 8, 2011 – Bethesda, MD – Media Cybernetics announces the release of Image-Pro Insight Version 8.0 image acquisition, processing, and measurement software. Based on more than 25 years of user feedback, Image-Pro Insight propels the popular Image-Pro software series in a new direction with an updated user interface, ease-of-use enhancements, and the addition of several innovative, time-saving features.

“Image-Pro Insight makes image analysis easier by placing a wide range of image acquisition, processing, and measurement tools within convenient reach,” said Kathy Hrach, Media Cybernetics Product Manager. “Utilizing the features of Image-Pro Express software as a starting point, we developed a sleek new user interface, and revisited each feature – making it easier to use. We also added a set of intelligent new features, such as combined Live Tiling and Live EDF [Extended Depth of Field], live measurements, automatic calibration, and reporting tools.”

First introduced in Image-Pro Plus 7.0, Live Tiling and Live EDF make it easy to acquire large, tiled images and beautifully focused images – live – without an automated stage or focus drive. In Image-Pro Insight, these tools now offer combined functionality so that users can create focused, tiled images in one sitting while manually moving around their specimens.

Image-Pro Insight 8.0 continues the Image-Pro tradition of superior measurement and analysis by providing manual distance, angle, best-fit, and area measurement tools. Image-Pro Insight also introduces new Snap-to-Edge “magnetic” measurements that identify object edges to guarantee consistent, fast measurements. The new software’s semi-automated Auto Trace draws around an object and determines area measurements with two clicks. All measurements are interactive and easily exported to Microsoft® Excel® for further analysis.

Image-Pro Insight users have access to a variety of sharing and reporting features. Eight pre-designed report templates are included, enabling images and measurement data to be exported to PDF, Microsoft Word®, and other file formats. New tools make it easy to save images in low-resolution, high-resolution, or video formats. Simple export to Microsoft PowerPoint® automatically creates a slideshow with active images.

Image-Pro Insight offers training and support tools that make it easy to get started. Several free video tutorials demonstrate how to use the software. Image-Pro Insight users are also welcome to join a free Image-Pro email users list to share ideas and tips with other users as well as the Media Cybernetics team.
