U.S. FDA clears super-pulsed lasers for neck and shoulder pain

The laser technology is shown to be more effective than placebo for reducing neck and shoulder pain. 

After extensive review and evaluation, the U.S. FDA recently cleared Multi Radiance Medical's (Solon, OH) MR4 Laser technology for neck and shoulder pain relief under the Product Classification NHN.

The results of the randomized, double blind, controlled study submitted show that Multi Radiance MR4 Laser technology is more effective than placebo for reducing neck and shoulder pain. The new NHN classification gives clinicians and patients a clinically proven safe and effective alternative to opioids and other drugs for managing this common pain.

The company is participating in over 30 clinical trials and has published a dozen peer-reviewed articles in the last two years, according to Douglas Johnson, senior VP, Clinical and Scientific Affairs.
