Jenoptik's Lasers & Material Processing Division (Jena, Germany) has received a large order—worth approximately $13 million—from a US customer for the company's medical lasers.
To date, more than 15,000 of the company's medical lasers are in use worldwide, enabling noninvasive surgery and consequently an improved quality of life. Such lasers are used in ophthalmology, dermatology, surgery, and urology.
The company has the capability to mass-manufacture medical lasers and laser systems and continues to further develop them. Since 2010, its product offering has also included a compact design of the tried-and-tested laser for use in various medical devices.
