Jenoptik (Jena, Germany)'s Lasers & Material Processing Division has received an order worth $5.1 million (€4 million) from a well-known medical technology manufacturer in Germany. In 2014 and 2015, Jenoptik will manufacture multicolor thin-disk lasers for primary use in ophthalmology. The order is a continuation of many years of cooperation between the two companies.

The lasers are diode-pumped thin-disk lasers in the company's JenLas D2 line. They emit laser light between 532 and 659 nm for integration into laser therapy systems. The lasers make noninvasive medical operations possible, especially in ophthalmology, dermatology, surgery, and urology.
