Avantes spectrometers for fluorescence spectroscopy

Nov. 30, 2010
The AvaSpec SensLine spectrometers from Avantes suit low-light level detection and fluorescence spectroscopy applications.

The AvaSpec SensLine spectrometers from Avantes (Eerbeek, The Netherlands) suit low-light level detection and fluorescence spectroscopy applications. They feature an ultra low-stray light optical bench, back-thinned CCD detectors, and high-quantum efficiency. The AvaSpec-ULS2048×16-USB2's CCD detector measures in the UV to NIR spectrum, with an effective detector height of 224 µm for 16 pixels. The AvaSpec-ULS2048×64-USB2 has a detector height of 900 µm for 64 pixels and decreased antiblooming and etaloning. It also supports swift integration times of 1.75 ms.

PRESS RELEASE

AvaSpec-Sensline at Photonics West

The new AvaSpec Sensline of high performance, high sensitivity spectrometers is designed for customers with demanding applications. The Sensline features high quantum efficiency, back-thinned CCD detectors along with Avantes Ultra Low Straylight optical bench. The initial products released in this line are the AvaSpec-ULS2048x16-USB2 and AvaSpec-ULS 2048x64-USB2. Common applications for the AvaSpec Sensline spectrometers are those requiring high sensitivity light detection such as fluorescence spectroscopy and low light-level detection applications. Full specifications and demo instruments will be available at Photonics West 2011. Please visit us at booth 2131. The AvaSpec-ULS2048x16-USB2 features a high-speed backthinned CCD detector with high quantum efficiency for measurements in the UV to NIR range (200-1160nm). The effective detector height with 16 pixels of 14µm is 224µm and the pixels are vertically binned. Relative to the AvaSpec-ULS2048x14-USB2, Avantes first back-thinned CCD spectrometer, the new AvaSpec-ULS2048x16-USB2 supports much faster integration times (min 0.91 ms), has improved dark noise, better etaloning, better anti-blooming and better dynamic range. The new AvaSpec-ULS2048x64-USB2 has an even higher detector height with 64 pixels of 14µm, vertically binned to an effective detector height of 900µm, resulting in 4 times higher sensitivity. The AvaSpec-ULS2048x64-USB2 supports fast 1.75 ms integration times and has similar dark noise, reduced etaloning, anti-blooming and dynamic range specifications as the 2048x16.
